Disability Income Insurance From Thrivent Financial For Lutherans
Protect your lifestyle, your independence and your future. Select from the options listed below when deciding what type of coverage you want.

Contract Types:

  • Noncancelable—guaranteed to be renewed until the contract anniversary on or after your 65th birthday. (Premiums do not change.)
  • Guaranteed renewable—guaranteed to be renewed until the contract anniversary on or after your 65th birthday. (Premiums can increase.)

Deductible Periods:
Select from available options, ranging from 1 month to 24 months.

Maximum Periods:
Select a coverage period that meets your needs—from 6 months to 10 years or to age 65 or 70.

Monthly Benefit Amounts:
Issue amounts are based on your current earned income and can range from $500 to $15,000 per month.

Additional Riders Include:

  • Future Purchase Option Benefit Rider—for additional premium, this rider allows you to purchase additional insurance at specific intervals known as "option dates", if your income justifies it, regardless of your health.
  • Indexed Disability Income Benefit Rider—for additional premium, this rider adjusts your disability income benefits annually while on claim to help offset the impact of inflation.1
  • Regular Occupation Definition of Disability Rider—for additional premium, this rider replaces the contract's definition of occupation with your regular occupation or employment at the time disability begins.2

Partial benefits may be offered in situations where you may only be able to work part time.3

No benefits will be paid for (exclusions may vary by state):

  1. Pre-existing conditions4 during the first two years after the issue date, unless they are disclosed in the application and not excluded from coverage by name or description.
  2. Disability or any other loss caused by any of the following:
    1. Attempted suicide, while sane or insane.
    2. Intentionally self-inflicted injury, while sane or insane.
    3. Any act of war, declared or undeclared, or any act incident to war.
    4. Sickness or injury, which occurs or begins whole on full-time active duty with the armed forces of one or more countries. This does not apply to a period of two months or less of active duty for training purposes only. Upon Written Notice we will refund the portion of any premium paid for any periods of full-time active duty not covered.
    5. Pregnancy, childbirth or elective abortion. But we will not deny the benefits in the event of disability due to Complications of Pregnancy.
  3. Any period the insured is incarcerated.
